Construction Standards is intended to give you an understanding of the New Zealand Building Act, which sets down rules and regulations that building design must follow. It is an introduction to the Building Code’s acceptable solutions and alterative solutions, such as the standards 3604 and 3500. You will be required to produce drawings and details to show your understanding of these rules. A case study has been built into the course to help students to learn in a practical way, exposing them to real life situations and details.
