New students logging in on campus
Logging In On Campus
Login to any student computer at any EIT Campus. Log in using the User name and Password you have been provided. Click on the arrow to continue.
Your User name and Password is documented in the Student Login Handout sheet which should have been sent to you or given to you on your orientation day. If you have not received your User name and Password, please contact your programme secretary to make sure your enrolment is complete.
Change you password
It is recommended that you change your password as soon as you login so your password is unique. To do this on an EIT computer wait till you see desktop icons on the screen after logging in, then press the CTRL+ALT+DELETE keys on your keyboard. Click on Change a password...
Your new Password needs to be 6 characters or more. If you forget your Password or you get locked out of the computers, go to the Help page in this EITOnline book.
Log into EITOnline
When you open up the Internet on any EIT computer the MyEIT student landing page should come up. There is a link to EITOnline on the student landing page, otherwise go to http://eitonline.eit.ac.nz
New students logging in off campus
Logging In Off Campus
Open up the Internet on your computer and type in, or copy, this weblink into your Internet browser window http://eitonline.eit.ac.nz
It is recommended after you login for the very first time to change your password to something unique. You can change your password on the MyEIT student landing page by using the Password Reset option.
Students returning for another year of study
If you are a returning EIT student and it has been less than 90 days since you last logged in to any of EIT's systems (EIT computers, student webmail or EITOnline) then your old password should still work but may require changing before you can log in to EITOnline again. Try your old password in EITOnline and if it doesn't work the first time then change your password on the MyEIT student landing page by using the Password Reset option. If you enter an incorrect password more than 4 times your account will lock so it's better to reset your password than lock it with too many incorrect attempts. Also, use a totally new password when changing your password as the last 10 passwords will still be remembered and cannot be reused.
If it has been longer than 90 days since you last logged into any of EIT's systems then your password may have been reset back to the original password when you first enrolled. If need be, use the MyEIT student landing page Password Reset option to change this to something new. Also, use a totally new password when changing your password as even though your password has been reset, the system still remembers the last 10 passwords from your previous enrolment.
