EIT will be conducting critical patching of Microsoft based servers on Thursday 25th February / Friday 26th February. This is to ensure that EITs core computer systems are fully patched against the Microsoft updates released during their monthly patching window. All staff and student IT Services may be unavailable for a short time during this window as the installation of patches often requires a system reboot

Affected Systems: All Staff and Student IT Systems - Unavailable for short periods of time during the window listed above

Affected Locations: Hawke's Bay, Tairawhiti, Auckland, Regional Learning Centres and External Locations

If you are an EIT student you use the same password for EIT Online as you use for other EIT systems. This means you use your EIT username and the same EIT password to log on to EIT Online, webmail, library databases or on-campus computers.

Can’t log in?

Maybe your password has expired (for security reasons it expires every 180 days). Go to student email, http://mail.eit.ac.nz to update it.

Lost your EIT password?

  • Option 1: Call or email EIT Helpdesk (06 9748000 ext 4357, help@eit.ac.nz) or go to a Learning Hub in one of the on campus libraries at Taradale or Gisborne. You may be asked for your ID number or personal details to confirm you are an EIT student.
  • Option 2: Use EIT's Reset password tool MyEIT password reset and get a new password sent to the mobile phone number listed on your student record. (This only works for students)

Locked your account?

  • If you attempt to login with an incorrect password more than 4 times in a row your account will be locked out. You will then need to call or email EIT Helpdesk (06 9748000 ext 4357, help@eit.ac.nz) or after hours call the Library Learning Hub (06 9748000 ext 6045) to get your account unlocked.
